February 27, 2013 - First Children's Department Appointment

February 19,2013 - 3rd and Final GAL Visit

February 15, 2013 - First Court Date

January 30, 2013 - File for court date, Second GAL Visit

January 21, 2013 - Met at Lawyer's Office to sign court documents. Will be filing on Jan 30, hoping to get the Feb 15 court date.

January 11, 2013 - First Guardian ad Litem visit

January 10, 2013 - Second LAN social worker visit

January 9, 2013 - First Attorney Meeting

December 6,2012 - First LAN social worker visit

October 29, 2012 - Day #1 of 90-day foster period, Was officially discharged by orphanage doctor.

October 26, 2012 - Brought Zac Home for forever!

October 25, 2012 - Meet Zac! First Bonding Day!

October 24, 2012 - Orientation at Little Angels Network.

October 12, 2012 - i800 approved!

September 21, 2012 - USCIS received our corrected documents.


September 19, 2012 - Stateside agency mailed supplemental i800 documents.

August 22, 2012 - i800 RFE'd (Request for Further Evidence) - need to reissue birth certificate

August 14, 2012 - Email from USCIS that they received our application.

August 7, 2012 - Stateside agency mailed i800 application

July 25, 2012 - Official acceptance of referral.

July 27, 2012 - Official referral from CAS.  Baby boy born May 8, 2011!

July 10, 2012 - Found out we were matched with a child!

June 28, 2012 - Notified by CAS we were approved at the June NAC meeting!

June 13, 2012 - NAC Meeting

May 31, 2012 - Little Angels to take all their dossiers to the NAC. 

May 29,2012 - Dropped off Completed Dossier at Little Angels!

May 28,2012 - Received Last Fedex Package from Courier in DC containing last 2 authenticated dossier documents.

May 23,2012 - Courier picked up authenticated documents at Kenyan Embassy and fedex'd to me in Nairobi. (Okay, best courier ever!)

May 21, 2012 - Last 2 documents dropped off at State Dept by Courier; Used Same-Day Service; Then Courier dropped off 2 documents at Kenyan Embassy same day.

May 15, 2012 - Received i800a approval via fedex. Had the Affidavit notarized and sent back out the same day with the same courier. Headed to the U.S.!

May 7, 2012 - i800a Approval by Immigration

March 28, 2012 - Mailed dossier package to courier in DC for authentication at State Dept/Kenyan embassy levels.  Sent 27 of 29 documents to be authenticated.  (Need to send one additional doc and our i800a approval when I receive it back.)

March 23,2012 - Mailed the i800a application!

March 22, 2012 - CAS received my notarized homestudy (via fax) and issued our Homestudy Approval Letter.

March 20, 2012 - Picked up my notarized homestudy from LAN.

March 6, 2012 - The CAS director made her revisions to the Homestudy and emailed it back to LAN to be printed and notarized!

February 29, 2012 - Our CAS Program Director reviewed and made revisions to homestudy 

February 28, 2012 - LAN emailed our final copy of homestudy to CAS

February 8, 2012 - Homestudy Draft Appointment at LAN

February 1, 2012 - Received Homestudy Draft from agency via email

December 28, 2011 - Step 2 of Dossier Authentication Process: Mailed documents to the individual states for authentication by the Secretary of State.

December 8, 2011 - Received back our FBI clearances!  Still waiting for our Home Study to be finalized.

September 27, 2011 - Finished mailing my FBI clearances (with fingerprints) and child abuse checks to all the states we've ever lived in.

September 21, 2011 - 4th visit with Little Angels, our Home Visit and interviews with our two older children.

September 14, 2011 - 3rd visit with Little Angels, individual interviews with Kevin and me.

September 8, 2011 - 2nd visit with Little Angels, joint interview with Kevin and me.

August 9, 2011 - Visited Little Angels for the first time, turned in documentation from Carolina Adoption Services and had one hour orientation to Little Angels.

August 7, 2011 - Arrived in Nairobi!

August 1, 2011 - Finished my online course and received my Certificate of Completion via email.


July 25, 2011 - Signed up for Heart of the Matter's 10 hour online course.


June 28, 2011 - Mailed contract and first installment payment to Carolina Adoption Services.


June 1, 2011 - Application approved with Carolina Adoption Services.


May 24, 2011 - Officially applied through Carolina Adoption Services!


May 2011 - Continuing to gather paperwork: notarized medical forms for all 6 of us, personal reference letters, pastoral reference letters, guardianship letters, our Taiwan criminal records, photos of our family, work verification letter, tax returns, bank statements, info for child abuse checks


April 6, 2011 - Began Gathering Paperwork, Requested Certified Birth Certificates, Certified copies of Marriage License


March 17, 2011 - Found out the moratorium on adoptions to U.S. citizens was LIFTED at the end of February 2011.  Was told by a Kenyan agency we would be able to adopt while we are there!

March 10, 2011 - Found out about the moratorium on adoptions to U.S. citizens.
